Mahindra reopens booking for XUV500 all-wheel-drive variant

Mahindra XUV500

India’s leading SUV manufacturer, Mahindra & Mahindra reopens the flood gates for its flagship model Mahindra XUV500 W8 AWD (All-Wheel-Drive) variant. Previously last-year, when the bookings were open for the XUV500 AWD the bookings were such that the company had to stop taking bookings of the W8 AWD to prevent the backlog of orders from reaching beyond their limits.

Currently there are 35,000 Mahindra XUV500 on our road since its launch and it is a striking victory for this Cheetah inspired SUV. Now Mahindra has boosted the capacity of its Chakan plant to such an extent to cop up with the export demand. Therefore, this expanded capacity has also allowed Mahindra to reopen bookings for the all-wheel drive version across the country. The booking amount for the car remains Rs 40,000 and the waiting period is around two months.

RefresherThe XUV500 is available with a 2.2-litre mHawk turbo diesel engine which produces 140bhp and 330Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a six speed manual transmission that drives either the front or all wheels depending on the model.
