Mahindra & Mahindra to hike the price of its cars from Jan

Mahindra & Mahindra has hiked the price of its cars by upto 3% from January 1 due to rising input costs, while other car manufacturers like Hyundai India and General Motors India have restricted it to under 2% and not beyond. The upward price revision will be effected due to rising input costs.

Indian auto makers’ margins are negatively being affected by the depreciating rupee, Mahindra India has quite a few reasons to rejoice. The depreciating rupee has worked in favour of the auto major than in the contrary. Thailand, Indonesia or Malaysia is the markets where Mahindra intends to set-up a new manufacturing unit.

To mark its success and as a part of year-end sales, Mahindra and Mahindra has announced some lucrative discounts on its flagship models. Mahindra Xylo, Mahindra Scorpio and the Mahindra Verito sedan are the selected models to be offered with a cash discount of Rs 60,000, Rs 40,000 and Rs 35,000 respectively.

A compact MPV version of its flagship model Mahindra Xylo, the Xylo Mini is likely to be showcased by the auto major at the 2012 Auto Expo, which is to begin from 7th January , next year. Other cars from Mahindra will be the SsangYong’s two new SUVs, the Rexton and Korando.
