Mahindra inaugurates new Reva facility in Bangalore

Mahindra Reva Electric Vehicles Pvt. Ltd a part of Mahindra & Mahindra Group, today inaugurated its manufacturing facility in Bangalore. Inaugurating the world-class, energy efficient, green manufacturing facility, Mr. Anand Mahindra, Chairman and Managing Director, Mahindra Group unveiled the Group’s vision to co-create and shape the “future of mobility”.

On the occasion, Anand Mahindra, chairman of Mahindra Group said, “We firmly believe that the automobile industry is at an inflection point that will re-shape the way we own and use mobility solutions. This change is being driven by rapidly changing customer needs and dramatic advancements in automotive technologies, including the growing influence of electronics and IT in automobile products and solutions.”

Mahindra-Reva also unveiled a host of technologies, all of them directly inspired by the vision of the future of mobility. The technology like Quick2Charge enables a car to be charged in 15 minutes to run 25km while Sun2Car uses solar energy for charging the car. The Car 2 Home is said to enable a car to power a house.

General Motors India is in full-swing just today evening we reported new Chevrolet Cruze scheduled to launch on June 29, 2012. Meanwhile, today the GM India has silently launched the much awaited SUV Chevrolet Captiva in all new avatar in India. The updated version of the Captiva SUV has come out in three variants, which will replace the current line-up. The updated Captiva was unveiled at the 2012 Auto Expo held in Delhi with refreshed front-fascia, which has got the Chevrolet’s traditional styling cue – the twin-port honeycomb grille and a bigger Chevrolet logo (already seen in Cruze & Beat also) which is simply massive, modified side mirrors and restyled headlamps complete the facelift. Coming to the interiors, all-leather seating and matching cabin exude total luxury, while an integrated 2-DIN CD/MP3 player with six speakers provides an extremely pleasurable listening experience. Tinted automatic windows, power mirrors, an eight-way power adjustable driver seat and an electronic climate control system with particle filter are all standard. Other convenience features include bottle holders, small item/coin and cup holders, a parking ticket holder, an overhead sunglasses compartment, seatback pockets and a dual-compartment sliding driver’s armrest. The Captiva also features three 12-volt power outlets that are accessible to all passengers. Under the hood, the new Captiva now gets two engine options –the base 2.0-litre diesel motor coupled with a manual gearbox and the new 2.2-litre diesel mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox.
