Luxury sports car maker Porsche comes to Bangalore

German sports car maker Porsche announced the inauguration of their latest luxury sports car dealership in Bangalore on Monday, December 13, 2011. With the opening of their third dealer showroom in South India and seventh in India, Porsche has inaugurated a total of four dealers in this year itself. Two others exist in Hyderabad and Chennai.

Mr. Ashish Chordia, Director of Porsche India said that all models would be available in India though customers would have to wait for 3 to 8 months before taking delivery. The showroom at Bangalore is located at Lavelle Road and is overseen by Mr. Raghu Nayak, its Principal Dealer for Porsche in the city.

On India as an important market, Porsche India Director Ashish Chordia said, “In 2010, we sold 134 cars and this year, we plan to complete 500 deliveries. In the next two years, we hope to complete deliveries reaching 3-digit figures.”  There are already 70 Porsches across Karnataka, and the new showroom is expected to boost that figure.

The showroom will house Porsche’s entire product range including the Boxter, 911, Panamera and premium SUV Cayenne in different variants. This showroom would display three cars at a time and with offer Porsche original key chains and other memorabilia so as to entice customers. Cayenne S was also unveiled and out of the total market share 56 to 60% was for the Cayenne range.
