India’s only Lamborghini Murcielago SV crashes hard in Delhi (Video)

Most of us are familiar with the saying – ‘With great power comes great responsibility’ and many of us quote this saying, and in case of a petrolhead, this saying is often said by owners of supercars and superbikes, as they literally have great power in their hands, but it is unfortunate that a few of them forget about this when they are behind the wheel. This is the very reason we see so many supercar crashes around the world, and of lately the same has been happening in India too.

This week, a Lamborghini Murcielago SV was found abandoned past midnight in New Delhi after it crashed into a divider. This is not the first time that a supercar has crashed in the capital of the country and this is not the first Lamborghini to crash there either. We are not exactly sure of the timing of the incident, but it came to light at around 1.15 am, when a police constable named Tej Pal was doing his routine rounds and found the rare supercar abandoned at the divider of Copernicus Marg near Hexagon C- circle.

After the constable reported the badly damaged and abandoned supercar, it was taken to the Tilak Marg police station on a flat-bed truck, where a case was registered under the Indian Penal Code and Motor Vehicles Act. The occupants managed to remove the number plates of the yellow Lamborghini Murcielago SV and fled. Cops confirmed the registration number to be DL 3C BR 8055 and registered with a Noida-based real estate firm.

Another police officer was quoted as saying, “someone must have taken the car for a spin late in the night as the roads are generally empty, and must have stepped on the accelerator not knowing the extreme acceleration capabilities of the supercar”

lamborghini-murcielago-sv-crashed-delhi-indiaThe Murcielago SV has a 661-horsepower engine that can clock a top speed of 342 kmph, and only 186 units of LP 670-4s were produced.

The Lamborghini Murcielago is an extremely rare car in India and this one has been damaged badly. The rear left side of the car has taken most of the damage and from the looks of it, the incident seems to have happened at quite a high speed.

We feel that, the person driving the car fled the scene because he/she was drunk and did not want additional charges filed for drunken driving. Do let us know your opinions in the comments section below.

Word of advice to all supercar and superbike owners – Please act responsibly as you have a lot of power in your hand or under your foot. Please do not do something stupid, for which the entire petrolhead community will have to pay a price. We do not need even more restrictions being imposed upon automobile enthusiasts.
