There are unconfirmed reports that KTM’s engineers are using a new frame for the adventure tourer, a frame which will offer increased levels of strength for off-road abuse as KTM expects most buyers will ride on smooth surface.

The Adventure 390 will likely be powered by the tried-and-tested KTM’s 373 cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine. This motor spits-out 43.5 PS at 9,000 rpm and 35 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm, matched to a 6-speed transmission.

Like the Duke and RC series, the Adventure 390 will be manufactured at Bajaj’s Chakan plant in Pune, with volumes planned for export markets. In India, the motorcycle will compete with the Mahindra Mojo and the Royal Enfield Himalayan in its segment.
