After the recent launch of diesel Honda Amaze, Honda is planning to export diesel engine components from India to the International markets such as Europe and Asia. Seeing the excellent response from Honda Amaze which was the first diesel engine car introduced by Honda in the Indian market, Honda has now planned to launch 4 new cars in its segment of diesel engines in India.

In order to achieve this, Honda has already invested an amount of Rs 2500 crore on its Rajasthan plant which is expected to be operational by mid 2014. As per reports, this will take the firm’s twelve-monthly (yearly) capacitance to 22.4 lakh vehicle units. The 4 cars expected to be launched within 2-3 years would comprise of the all-new 2014 Jazz, Next Generation City, Brio based MPV and a compact SUV.

The all-new 2014 Jazz which would be powered with turbo diesel motor is expected to be launched in the early -aiming to compete the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Hyundai i10 following which the all new City Sedan will be launched in which the petrol engine will be replaced by the diesel engine. Apart from this a Brio based MPV and a Jazz based SUV would compete the likes of Maruti Ertiga and Renault Duster respectively in the Indian market.
