Hero Honda is now Hero MotoCorp and the company revealed its new identity at a mega event in London, UK. The new Hero MotoCorp logo was launched at London’s o2 arena. Along with the identity, Hero also launched a new 150cc bike – Impulse and an 110cc scooter – Maestro. These will be first products under the new brand.

The heartthrob of Indian cinema and youth icon Ranbir Kapoor unveiled the first-of-its-kind 150cc on-road-off-road motorcycle for the Indian market called “Impulse”, leading us to strongly suspect that it is nothing but a rebadged Honda NXR150 BROS which Honda sells in the Brazilian market. No positive nodding on the speculative price is there but we expect it to be priced somewhere between Rs. 55,000 to Rs. 65,000.

The launch of “Impulse” creates a new experience in the Indian biking industry. The dual purpose on-road-off-road bike adds to the excitement every young man wants. The feature-loaded bike takes the rider where his excitement wants him to go by giving him freedom from roads. “Impulse” is loaded with versatile features including  nitrox-gas filled mono-shock rear suspension which ensures a smooth ride on roughest of terrains, high ground clearance with large dial front wheel with stud-type tread pattern tyres and large front disc brakes which lets the rider traverse any road or any stretch.

Additionally, “Impulse” also comes with solid knuckle guards, sporty high mount muffler, large and raised durable sporty fenders, straight pull spokes and motocross seat for the real off-road experience. Digital Combi meter with “Service Due” indicator, clock and digital vertical bar display fuel gauge adds to the overall style which is irresistible.

India’s second largest carmaker, Hyundai has officially launched the Hyundai i10 LPG in India today. There were expectations of the launch of LPG variants of Hyundai i10 and Hyundai Eon for past sometime. The LPG variant is priced Rs. 27,630 more than the existing petrol model. The new LPG version of i10, christened i10 ‘blue drive’ (blue drive is Hyundai’s eco-friendly and fuel efficient range) comes with a factory-fitted LPG kit and boasts of features that meet global standards in performance and safety. The Hyundai i10 is powered by a 1.1 litre iRDE2 engine. You would be able to shift between petrol and LPG modes by switching a knob. The new blue drive i10 variants are said to provide reliable performance and unmatched fuel economy. With separate Petrol (35 litre) and LPG (34 litre) tanks, the customers have an option to choose from LPG and petrol modes. The LPG tank in the i10 blue drive has a special ‘Toroidal’ LPG tank that allows intelligent use of space and makes for larger boot space than conventional LPG-fitted models. Another feature of the Hyundai i10 LPG is AMS – Alternator Management System (AMS). Thanks to AMS, battery life is increased and so is mileage. Another feature is the Manual Shift indicator (MSI), first in its class, MSI will intelligently suggest you optimum time to change gears, helping you achieve better fuel efficiency. “The LPG version of our Next Gen i10 is a viable alternative for customers looking at low running cost. With the launch of the i10 Blue Drive, Hyundai is broadening its eco-friendly initiative. Hyundai believes in preserving the environment by making eco-friendly cars that run on low emission fuels,” Mr H W Park, MD and CEO, Hyundai India, said. Hyundai claims that the LPG i10 has a special Toroidal tank that allows intelligent use of space and makes for larger boot space than conventional LPG-fitted models. The Alternator Management System (AMS), which controls delivery of power to the battery reduces the consumption during acceleration and elongates the battery life of the car. The LPG kit in i10 blue drive is impact resistant and has been tested and certified by ARAI. The LPG system is approved by DOE (Department of Explosives) and is offered with a 2-year warranty. Hyundai has introduced the eco-efficient ‘blue drive’ technology in the Next Gen i10 in its 1.1 Era and 1.1 Magna variants. The ex-showroom Delhi prices for the i10 Era (1.1 ltr) is Rs 416,144 and i10 Magna (1.1 ltr) is priced at Rs 430,659.   Also see - Spied – Hyundai’s HA (800cc) LPG variant   See more pictures of 2011 Hyundai i10 -
