Hero Maestro all set-to launch in March, this year

Recently, Hero Motocorp wrapped of its new 110cc scooter christened Maestro at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo along with two new 110cc bikes, Passion XPro and 125cc Ignitor. The company intends to break in through the gearless scooter market with the launch of Maestro in March. What remains to be seen is Maestro’s journey in a segment dominated by Honda’s Activa and Dio, which have at least 2 months waiting period.

The new scooter Maestro comes with with V-matic engine for high performance. Hero Maestro has a four-stroke air cooled with 110cc engine. Hero Maestro has advanced microprocessor ignition with TCIS that gives excellent performance. Maestro has the ability to provide power upto 8 bhp with a torque of 8.5 Nm.

Hero Maestro has a variomatic drive that allows optimum power and smooth acceleration. Hero Maestro is fitted with digital analog meter with service indicator, which acts a service reminder to the driver. The safety of the vehicle is given the top priority, and the vehicle is fitted with the combi-break system.

The tyres of the vehicle have also given a special thought and the vehicle is fitted with tuff tubes for better road grip. Maestro is matted with anti-slip rubber mat and pillion foot peg adds to the additional safety features of this scooter. Maestro has a kerb weight of 108 kilograms.

While the specifications mirror that of Honda Activa, what would give Maestro an edge is perhaps its pricing. Maestro is expected to have a price tag between Rs. 45,000 and 55,000. That is, however, a market speculation.

Mercedes-Benz India has launched the all new 2012 M-class SUV in two editions; the first edition which is fully-loaded AMG package (with 20-inch AMG alloy wheels and AMG body kit), priced at Rs.66 lakh and while the second edition which is the standard model priced at Rs.56.9 lakh. The prices mentioned above are all ex-showroom Delhi. For the AMG variant, one will have to pay Rs. 10 lakh more than the standard model and is limited only to 100 units. The new model is slightly longer(23mm) and wider(15mm) than the outgoing model which means you get more cabin space and pleased with comfort, and the height decrease(20mm) which gives it a sporty appeal. These changes give the car a dynamic look compared to its predecessor. While the pronounced wheel arches and eye-like headlights add to the SUV’s appeal. Mercedes has extensively reworked its predecessor’s chassis and double wishbone suspension to improve the dynamic properties and feedback of the over-two-tonne SUV. On the inside the New M-Class features ample of space to accommodate 5 adults comfortably with enough legroom and headroom for each. It is built with high-quality materials, has a superb looking instrument cluster and gets a state-of-the-art entertainment systems and pretty instruments which include the Thermotronic Auto Climate Control, Memory Seats, Electric sliding sunroof, Wood/Leather steering wheel, Reversing Camera and Nine Airbags. The luggage space is decently copious and overall the car is an epitome of refinement and comfort. Under the hood, the New M-Class is powered with a 3-litre engine that generates 258Bhp on tap from the turbo diesel V6 “Bluetec 4-Matic” engine mated to a 7-G Tronic Plus automatic transmission. The big diesel engine is capable of reaching 100kph in 7.4seconds with the help of 619Nm of torque and can attain a top speed of 224Kph. The SUV also gets tech like start-stop and permanent four-wheel drive as standard and an optional six-stage on/off-road package. As per Mercedes-Benz India officials, the standard model will be available on-sale from the beginning of July as the CKD (Completely Knocked Down) unit. The company themselves call the new M-Class as the ‘S Class of SUVs’ because of the cutting edge technology, better fuel economy and handsome design. It will be positioned to take on the BMW X5 and the king of the segment, the Audi Q7 crossover.
