Hero MotoCorp plans to launch HX250R by June-2015

With all other major motorcycle manufacturers sharing platforms in the Indian market, Hero MotoCorp had already planned to do the same in the month of September 2014, since sharing platforms for multiple bikes actually increases both economies of scale and R&D savings. As per the reports obtained, Hero plans to launch HX250R by June 2015 in the Indian market which was delayed from its earlier launch expected in November 2014, mainly as the company couldn’t manage to get the workers to shift to its Neemrana facility in Rajasthan.

Hero has developed a new platform for the upcoming HX250R motorcycles which would be shared with three products in the near future. Three products would comprise of a Sports bike, Street fighter machine to compete the likes of KTM Duke and an off-roader like the Impulse. Hero’s HX250R would be powered with a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine coupled to a 6 speed transmission producing a maximum power of 31 PS at a maximum torque of 26NM.

With this upcoming launch, Hero MotoCorp plans to make a great entry into quarter-litre segment competing the likes of KTM RC 200 and CBR 250R in the Indian market. Hero’s upcoming HX250R is expected to be priced around INR 1.6 lakhs.
