Hero Splendor i-Smart – FrontView
At a press conference held in Gurgaon, Hero MotoCorp unveiled its Splendor iSmart motorcycle. It is the first Indian motorcycle to feature Start-Stop System. The automaker has introduced its Idle start Stop System (i3S) technology that stops the engine when the bike is standing idle, for example at traffic signals, and turns it on when required. We got to see this amazing motorcycle and have clicked some pictures as well.
The i3S technology enhances the fuel efficiency of vehicles by preventing wasteful fuel consumption. It will also bring down the emission of carbon dioxide. However, it can work in neutral in geared two-wheelers only. The Hero Splendor iSmart has been equipped with a 4-stroke, air cooled single cylinder OHC 97.2 cc engine. This powertrain is powerful enough to provide a power output of 7.8 PS and a peak torque of 8.04 Nm.
The motorcycle also flaunts DC Digital CDI ignition type along with self starting feature. It will flaunt tubular double cradle frame chassis. Its braking and handling facilities are quite dynamic. Hero Splendor iSmart will come with 12V-2 Ah Maintenance Free Battery as well.
Hero Splendor i-Smart – RearView
The Hero Splendor iSmart motorcycle also receives an aerodynamic front cowl. It features stylish and elegant rear grab rails. The seat texture is also very luxurious. The bike will carry a matte black exhaust silencer, too. The body graphics of the Hero Splendor iSmart are very exciting and impressive.
The Hero Splendor iSmart will enter the market to compete against other bikes with similar features. But its chief competitors will be TVS bikes, Mahindra Centuro and Bajaj Discover 100T among others. The Hero Splendor iSmart will be launched in a variety of eye-pleasing colors. Hero MotoCorp has officially announced the price of Splendor i-Smart, it is available for Rs. 47,250 (ex-showroom Delhi). The on-road price of Hero Splendor i-Smart in Delhi is Rs. 53,893.
