Ford India scheduled to launch Fiesta automatic on 28th February

Ford India will launch the Fiesta automatic on the 28th of February. The Fiesta automatic is available only on the range-topping version of the 1.5-litre petrol engine. This is a 6-speed dual clutch transmission, this automatic transmission will be mated to a 1.5 l Ti VCT petrol engine. Fiesta AT is expected to deliver a decent mileage of 16.45 kmpl which is higher that its manual petrol version.

To add to this, the gearbox is very light in weight and also has better response when compared to the orthodox automatic geraboxes. To provide effective driving in heavy traffic conditions the new Ford Fiesta AT has the features of hill hold and creep functions. Although this type of dual clutch gearboxes are fitted in all the sedans in the international market, however in the Indian market it will be for the first time that a C segment sedan will be coming with such an automatic gearbox.

However the diesel variant of the Ford Fiesta will be continued with a 5 speed manual gearbox. Further to make the car more attractive, it is being offered in Paprika red colour. The company is claiming a very impressive mileage of 16.45 kmpl which is even better than the petrol variant with manual gearbox. The new Ti-VCT petrol engine will provide a maximum power of 110 Bhp and a maximum torque of 140 Nm. It will be tuned similar to the manual variant.

Watch out this space for the price update of the Fiesta autobox. Having said that, Ford India may go with the option of launching 2 different versions of the new Ford Fiesta AT in order to cover and attract a larger section of customers.
