Ford EcoSport – FrontView
Ford EcoSport one of the most anticipated launches for 2013 will launch on June 11. After a long wait, Ford is finally introducing the sub 4-metre SUV in the Indian market. The EcoSport was first revealed globally, at the Indian Auto Expo of 2012. Nearly 18 months later, the crossover is finally-up and ready for an Indian launch.
Meanwhile, the dealers across the country have begun accepting the bookings for Ford EcoSport unofficially that is yet to be launched. The booking amount for the same is Rs 50,000, with deliveries being made by end-June or early-July. Ford dealers are accepting advance bookings for four variants like Ambiente, Trend, Titanium and Titanium Plus.
Booking amount for all the variants is same. The EcoSport is being offered in 3 engine choices like 1.5-litre diesel, 1.5-litre petrol and much popular 1.0-litre turbocharged EcoBoost. The 1.5-litre petrol engine will be offered with a 5 -peed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission system. Meanwhile, there is no automatic transmission system in 1.5-litre diesel engine model.
Ford EcoSport – RearView
On being asked with Ford India’s President and Managing Director, Joginder Singh if the EcoSport 1.0-litre EcoBoost variant will be offered in the mid-level variant also, he replied that as of now, the EcoBoost will be launched only in Titanium and Titanium Options variant, but going forward, based on the actual demand, they may take a decision on offering the same on other variants as well.
The EcoSport will sport Smart Keyless entry and is generously equipped with state of the art technological and comfort features. These include telescopic steering, music player with Aux-in and Bluetooth besides remote locking, multi function display and steering mounted controls. Driver seat is adjustable while the vehicle possesses front, side and curtain airbags for added safety.
