Just last-week Tata Motor’s British subsidiary Land Rover revealed the firstever official images of 2013 Range Rover, now a week later company has revealed the firstever official images of 2013 Land Rover Freelander. The 2013 Freelander 2 will make its global premiere at the 2012 Moscow International Motor Show on Wednesday 29 August, 2012, before it goes on sale later this-year.

Compared to the outgoing model, the 2013 Freelander 2 gets more premium redesign on the exterior with the use LED lights with the daytime running lamps receiving a signature graphic and also the tail lamps are now LED. 17-inch wheels are now standard on the XS variant and there are also three new exterior colour options to choose from. There is also the addition of a new Dynamic trim in some global markets. This variant comes with 19-inch, 10-spoke alloy wheels, a bodykit and gloss black trim for exterior detailing.

On the inside, the 2013 Freelander 2 gets more comfort, fresh interior with a new center console, Range Rover Evoque equipment, a new 7-inch color touchscreen, 7-day timed climate system, optional satellite navigation and much more. The updated Freelander 2 also receives a Passive Start system which allows the engine to start-up as long as the key is somewhere inside the car. The company has also decked the Freelander 2 with a rear view camera and ‘Hitch Assist’.

Under the hood engine options remain unchanged, two diesels – the 2.2-litre 150PS TD4 and 190PS SD4 with four-wheel drive. A 6-speed manual transmission is standard on the two-wheel drive 150PS eD4 engine. Land Rover claims that this engine will deliver a fuel efficiency of approximately 16kmpl. All Freelander 2 models now come with Intelligent Power System Management which incorporates regenerative charging.

Fiat India has launched a limited edition of the Punto 90HP called the Punto Sport at the newly opened Fiat Caffe in Pune, Maharashtra on 18th May 2012. This limited edition hatch, the Punto Sport is priced at Rs. 7.36 Lakhs ex-showroom Delhi which is a premium pricing compared to the other models of Fiat Punto in India. It is powered with Fiat's 1.3-litre 90bhp MultiJet diesel motor which delivers a fuel economy of 20.5kpl. The Limited edition Punto Sport Grande is available in three distinct colour options - Exotica red, Bossa Nova White, and Hip Hop Black. There's no denying that exterior and interior styling is distinctive, crafted by the Designer of the Century, Giorgetto Giugiaro. On the exterior, the Punto Sport version gets special decals on the sides and rear with colour-coded wing mirrors, chrome-door handles and a chrome exhaust tip. Coming to the interior, the upgrades for the Sport version include red stitching on Seats, a leather gear knob & gear cover, aluminum pedals, additional chrome bits on the dash, and Punto branded door sills. In addition to the above, the Punto 90hp comes with Dual Stage Airbags, ABS with EBD, Automatic Climate Control, Blue & Me technology, Integrated CD/MP3 player with USB and Alloy wheels with the widest tyres (in the category). The Punto Sport was launched at Fiat's new Fiat Caffe in Pune. The Caffé is located at Koregaon Park; it is Fiat's second Caffé, the first being in Delhi. Currently, India is the only country where Fiat has two Caffe outlets. Fiat also recently opened its first exclusive dealership at Hyderabad. Fiat is planning to start a new company that will look after their marketing and sales operation and will have no involvement with Tata Motors. Mr. Enrico Atanasio will be the MD of this yet unnamed company.
