Our regular reader might remember a couple of months ago, we posted a spy pics of the upcoming Fiat Punto facelift had surfaced on web. The Italian automaker, Fiat has recently launched the new Fiat Punto facelift on the both 3-door and 5-door version in the UK market. Meanwhile, Fiat India has recently launched – Punto Sport. With the launch of this car became the most powerful diesel hatch and it seems that Fiat has been cashing on the popularity of the diesel cars in India.
The all new Fiat Punto has come out with many cosmetic changes, thus look so refreshed. Although, the all new 2012 Fiat Punto has got considerable changes, it still maintains the model’s signature stamp. The most noticeable modifications of all, is a refreshed front bumper along with the brand new headlamps and fog lamps. Besides the front, the new Punto in UK also gets a new bumper, a new tail gate design and new tail lamps.
As far as the interiors are concerned, the new Punto gets all new plastics used inside. The changes also include with 15-inch rims, lowered and stiffened suspension, tinted glass, a boot spoiler and side skirts. All models now get daytime running lamps, and the Blue&Me Bluetooth system is an option on all models as well.
The 2012 Fiat Grande Punto hatchback facelift also includes the introduction of the turbocharged, 875cc TwinAir twin cylinder engine. This petrol engine offers much power and improved fuel efficiency despite of its smaller capacity. The new Punto comes with six-speed manual transmission.
New Punto has a button to limit the peak torque to 105 Nm that makes it highly fuel efficient. This button is in ease of access and is mounted on the dashboard. Available in petrol and diesel options, the Fiat Punto also offers class leading features such as start stop and gear shift indicator besides other segment first features.
