Few KTM 390 Duke’s silently recalled in India

After the recent launch of the new KTM 390 Duke couple of months ago, KTM has silently recalled the Duke 390 which it has already sold in the Indian market. The information has been confirmed as one of Team-BHP’s members is among the first owners of the Duke 390 in Bangalore. A notification came to him from a local KTM dealership saying that a part replacement exercise has to be carried out on his bike.

Once taken to the KTM dealership, certain parts such as the rotor and the fan assembly were replaced free of cost by the dealership taking around 2 to 3 hours for the replacement. After the launch, Duke 390 owners had already reported issues such as bike not starting and overheating in heavy traffic conditions. As a result of this feedback, KTM has silently recalled the already sold Duke 390’s in order to replace the cooling fan and the disc brakes equipped earlier with a new rotor and fan assembly.

As of now, Bajaj-KTM hasn’t yet issued any official notice regarding a voluntarily recall drive for the new KTM 390 Duke already sold in the Indian market and it remains to be seen if more KTM 390 Duke owners would be notified by the dealerships about this parts replacement exercise. To overcome these issues, KTM has also delayed the delivery of vehicle to customers which was earlier reported to be delivered within 90 days of booking.
