Nothing like a show of muscle – and speed – to help in policing the streets. The Dubai police force has just added a fast cruiser to its fleet, in the form of a Brabus-tuned Mercedes G63 AMG with an output of 700 horsepower. This model receives a new name, the B637 – 700 Widestar. But isn’t significantly faster than the standard version, but the fact it is a Brabus probably justifies the cost. However, since there are so many G63 AMGs on Dubai’s streets, the police went for a bit of added spice, a 700 HP Brabus version.
The Brabus Mercedes G63 AMG Dubai Police car is wrapped in the Force’s official white and green livery and features lights bar and everything. The G63 AMG signed by Brabus comes equipped with 23-inch alloys, and a wide body kit that includes fender flares, underbody protection, a front spoiler with integrated LED DRLs, a new front bumper, a roof spoiler and a rear apron. The Brabus G63 police car is also fitted with a Ride Control comfort.
The Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG, in its new generation, is replacing the old G55 AMG and it’s taking its power from a 5.5-litre twin turbocharged direct injected V8 engine. The total output produced by the unit stands at 536 HP and 760 Nm of torque, in standard, while the V8 biturbo engine has now been modified by Brabus to produce 690 HP (700 PS) & 960 Nm of torque, and this is enough to allow it to sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.9 seconds before reaching a top speed of 240 kmph.
A brand-new Mercedes SL63 AMG, Nissan GT-R and an Audi R8 are also being added for Dubai Police.
