Dealers modify standard Suzuki Gixxer into Gixxer SF (full-faired)

The Suzuki Gixxer has been a hit especially in the India where the people love it for its excellent fuel economy in the class and an exceptional riding experience. It has been able to deliver decent sales ever since its launch in the 150cc bike segment.

In April-2015 a sportier version of the Gixxer with the full-fairing was launched, called the ‘Gixxer SF’. The Gixxer SF looked even more tempting than the standard Gixxer. So, all the poor owners of the motorcycle who bought the bike before launch of Gixxer SF wanted that little extra in the looks department. Thus based on customer’s request, the authorized Suzuki service centres undertake such modification.

However, this modification of converting a standard Gixxer into Gixxer SF (full-faired) can lead to disruptions while claiming insurance. The dealers have confirmed the modifications are done without voiding the powertrain warranty and will charge a cost of Rs 10,000 – 15,000, depending upon the colour of the motorcycle.

The modification will take approximately 2 days if all the spares are readily available. It will cost in range of Rs 10,000 – 13,000, if the base Gixxer is painted in Metallic Triton Blue, Peal Mirage White or Glass Sparkle Black, since the SF fairings are readily available in those colours. If your Gixxer isn’t available in any of those above colours then the modification will cost Rs 15,000

Suzuki authorized dealers and service centres are not promoting this activity, but helping out customers who are willing to convert standard Gixxer into Gixxer SF.
