Chevrolet adds a base diesel variant to the Sail UV-A line-up

The demand of hatchback cars in India is never ending and this demand resulted in a cut throat competition and all automobile manufactures want to have the biggest share of it. With the same hope Chevrolet launched its Sail U-VA in 2012. The sales figures however did not reach to the numbers expected by GM, and in order to make it happen the company earlier this-month slashed the prices of its U-VA hatch by Rs.25000, and now the company has launched a base diesel variant of the Chevrolet Sail U-VA  called the Sail PS.

Although base PS model was available in petrol variant, ever since the launch. The base PS diesel variant is launched recently priced at Rs 5.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which is about Rs. 30,000 cheaper than the Maruti Suzuki Swift LDI. The prices of the diesel variant are now also available on the company’s official website.

The entry-level Sail U-VA PS comes with the basic comfort features such as manually operated air conditioner, front power windows, electrically operated OVRMs, remote boot opener and tilt-adjustable steering wheel. Also the base variant will have steel wheels rather than the alloy wheels. Powering the diesel Sail U-VA will be a 1.3 litre diesel engine producing a power 79PS@205Nm of torque. The engine will be coupled to a 5-speed manual transmission.
