Maruti Suzuki has entered into the luxury car segment (For more info Maruti Suzuki Kizashi – Feb launch).  Maruti has launched its luxury car Kizashi on 2.2.2011 into the Indian market.  Kizashi will be available in tow variants.  Introductory price of manual variant is Rs. 16.5 lakhs and the automatic variant is Rs. 17.5 lakhs.  This petrol engine car will be imported from the manufacturing unit of parent company Suzuki in Japan. Bookings for Kizashi have already started and the deliveries will start from March. Kizashi in Japanese means ‘sign of great thing to come’. Kizashi is going to compete with the already established cars in luxury segment like Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.  Kizashi is going to be another alternative for the rich people in India to choose in the luxury car segment.  Though Kizashi car is being imported from Japan, there is a plan to taken assembling of car in India in future.  Though the introduction of Kizashi car increases the portfolio, Maruti Company will not neglect the small car segment which is very important to the company.  Interest rates and commodity rates are already increasing and if the excise duty on cars is increased in the coming budget, there would be additional burden on the car industry.
