Bajaj Pulsar 200SS might have an optional ABS!

The news of the launch of the Pulsar 200SS are starting to increase with the passage of time and now with Rajiv Bajaj confirming the launch in the first quarter, the reports surrounding what it would bring with it are increasing too. The Pulsar 200SS will come with ABS as per the latest spy shots and the bike will be the cheapest sports bike in the country to sport ABS.

Bajaj Pulsar 200SS will be the most affordable sport bike with ABS in India.

The Apache RTR 180 is currently the only one with ABS for the time being in the sub Rs 1.2 lakh segment and the Pulsar 200SS will be the one joining it. The Pulsar 200SS will be going up against the likes of Karizma ZMR, Hero HX250R and Yamaha R15. The 200SS’s initial units look like they have been bestowed upon by TVS Eurogrip tyres which are the ones the 200NS rides on too.

Recently, Pulsar 200NS units were caught with upgraded MRF tyres so we might find the same ones making their way to the 200SS too. However, it elder sibling, the 400SS will get Metzeler tyres like the ones found on the Duke 390.

It will be powered by a 199.5 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder motor that will have a power output of  23.52 PS @ 9,500 rpm and 18.3 Nm of peak torque output @ 8,000 rpm. What remains to be seen is if the Indian version of the bike will get fuel injection as the 200NS Bajaj exports to Turkey gets it but we get the carbureted version.

The Pulsar 200SS is expected to be priced extremely competitively and will be slotted between the R15 and KTM RC200. Expect it to cost less than the RC200 by about Rs 30,000. Stay tuned for more details regarding the launch of the new Pulsar 200SS.
