Bajaj Pulsar 200SS fully-faired version more details emerge

Yesterday at the launch event of the Bajaj Discover 125 ST, Bajaj Auto revealed their plans of launching the Pulsar 200SS soon. Earlier we brought you the rendered image, which gives a clear view how fully-faired version of Pulsar 200 will look like! But we called it Pulsar 200FS(Faired Sports). Now according to the sources, the fully faired variant of the Pulsar 200 is called Pulsar 200SS(Super Sports) and is expected to see the light of the day by end-2012.

However it is now official, the company confirmed about the fully faired variant of the Pulsar 200SS is in the full-swing. But remained silent, when asked about the launch of the Pulsar 200SS and revealed that the Pulsar 200NS deliveries would start by July. We can see in the above rendering that fairing on that Pulsar 200NS doesn’t look bad after all, but of course, the final product may look drastically different and may be better too.

Bajaj Pulsar 200SS fully-faired version

According to our good friends at Motorbeam, Bajaj Auto has began testing prototypes of the Pulsar 200SS, at Bajaj Auto’s test track in Pune and even revealed that the company has a few prototypes ready with them and will extensively test the bike as it’s their first full faired motorcycle. When the Pulsar 200SS is launched it will be positioned above the Pulsar 200NS.

Speaking about the cost, the Pulsar 200SS would be priced with a premium of Rs. 5000-7000/- more than the naked version. The Pulsar 200SS will be a little more weight to it, but its performance will be better than Pulsar 200NS. It will feature the same mechanicals too with the most significant changes being done to the gearing to increase top speed. While the power output will remain unchanged at 23.17 PS.

Bajaj Pulsar 200NS is the second generation of the Pulsar, a major upgrade that comes after 10 years of its foray. It’s no surprise that full faired bikes are able to turn more heads than a naked bike could possibly do. Indians love fully faired bikes, and a fully faired bike with enough muscle for Indian roads and Pulsar logo with reasonable price tag is something which an average Indian craves for. Let’s see how Bajaj surprises us this time.
