Bajaj Pulsar 200NS makes its way to Nepal

The authorized distributor of Bajaj Auto in Nepal, Hansraj Hulaschand Company is all set to roll out Bajaj’s flagship model Pulsar 200NS in Nepalese market. As per the sources, the new Bajaj Pulsar 200NS will be unveiled by the end-August, 2012. However, the official launch of the Pulsar 200NS will commence at the seventh edition of the NADA Auto Show slated to be held in September, 2012.

Currently, HH Bajaj sells the Pulsar 220 cc, 180 cc, 150 cc and 135 cc motorcycles. Once the Pulsar 200NS is launched in Nepal, it will give a stiff competition to the Yamaha R 15, Honda CBR 250, Hero Honda Karizma ZMR and Bajaj’s own KTM Duke 200.

“Bajaj Pulsar is one of the most loved two-wheeler brands in Nepal, and we are pretty excited to launch the Pulsar 200 NS here, the new Pulsar has got a distinctively new appeal and incorporates sporty features. The two-wheeler has also been upgraded technically.” said Chiranjibi Shah/Sharma, deputy general manager of HH Bajaj.

Sharma added, “The new motorcycle features triple-spark technology, unlike preceding variants which had twin-spark technology, giving the two-wheeler unprecedented performance, efficiency and lower emission. And combustion of fuel in a triple-spark engine is 27 percent faster than in a twin-spark engine and 50 percent faster than in a single-spark engine.”

Anyways, Pulsar 200NS (Naked Sport) is new product, it features all-new exhaust layout, which is now below the engine like 200 Duke. The Pulsar 200NS is all-new in terms of styling and technology. It features new design for alloy wheels, instrument cluster, fuel tank and side scoops. According to the HH Bajaj, every aspect of the bike has been crafted to ensure an aggressive and muscular look.

Pulsar 200 NS comes with Bybre disc brakes on the front and rear wheel for more efficient braking. Ground clearance is marked at 167 mm, and the bike has a kerb weight at 145 kgs. There’s a 12 liter fuel tank, and the bike runs on 10 spoke 17 inch alloy wheels. You’ll spot the telescopic front fork with antifriction bush dia 37 front and Nitrox mono-shock suspension at the rear.

According to Sharma, the company sells around 1,500 Pulsar motorcycles monthly at present and we are aiming to increase the figure by 500 units after the launch of this new variant. HH Bajaj has stated that the new motorcycle is likely to cost around 300,000 Nepali Rupees, which translates to 187,500 Indian Rupees. And as in India, the Pulsar 200NS will available in 4 shades namely – Yellow, Red, Blue and Black.

 

RefresherBajaj Pulsar 200 NS will be powered by 200 cc engine, with SOHC 4 valve engine with triple sparks plugs producing 23.17 BHP of peak power at 9500 RPM and 18.3 Nm of peak torque at 8000 RPM, Bajaj claim the Pulsar 200 NS will hit 60 km/h in 3.61 seconds and 100 km/h in just 9.83 seconds. The Pulsar 200 NS is not the fastest Indian with a top speed of 136 km/h. Apart from these exceptional figures, Pulsar 200 NS delivers a mileage of 58 kmpl when driven at a constant speed 55 kmph. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and the Pulsar 200 NS uses liquid cooling.

The special edition Sunny will hit showrooms across-India by February 12.   What we say?
