Bajaj Pulsar 200NS Fi in the works, to challenge its rivals!

Bajaj Pulsar 200NS Fi

At the recent launch of India’s first 100cc premium motorcycle, Bajaj Discover 100T, Bajaj Auto has made an very interesting announcement about its flagship motorcycle that they’re working on a fuel injected version for the Pulsar 200NS. The Pulsar 200NS is the most advanced Pulsar bike till date, it was the first Bajaj bike to get monoshock-suspension, petal disc brakes and first bike in the world to get triple-spark technology.

The 200NS Fi will be the second Bajaj bike to feature a fuel-injection as the first one was the Pulsar 220 DTS-Fi. The company hasn’t revealed much info on this topic. Apart from the fuel injection, there wouldn’t be any expected change in the performance of the motor, although use of injectors will improve the performance for sure, but the power output will remain same. Its triple spark ignition unit help it burn every single bit of the fuel, thus offers optimum performance with the class leading mileage figures.

At the time of 200NS launch, to keep the prices low the company continued to use carburettor to inject the fuel in the engine, however, the motor is shared with the KTM Duke 200 which comes loaded with fuel injection. The Pulsar 200NS is the only bike in the segment that doesn’t use fuel injection unlike Hero Karizma ZMR and the likes.

This bike is believed to be developed for the export markets such as Indonesia and the Philippines. And if the company launched the Pulsar 200NS Fi (with fuel-injection technology) in India, the cost of the bike will increase by about Rs. 5000 to Rs. 8000, which will further reduce the difference between the Pulsar 200NS and the KTM Duke 200. Therefore, it will be bad for Bajaj Auto itself and make no sense in the Indian market.
