Bajaj Auto recalls the Pulsar 220 DTSi over the starter relay issue

 Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTSi

Bajaj Auto has recalled its flagship model, Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTSi claiming it to be a technical glitch with the starter relay. This recall will involve the free replacement of the starter relay in specific Pulsar 220 DTSi motorcycle at Bajaj service centres’ across the nation.

The problem does not seem to be serious enough, but since the Bajaj Pulsar 220 DTSi is an electric start-only motorcycle, it would be advisable to replace the starter relay as soon as possible as the relay’s failure could leave you stranded without the starter functioning.

Bajaj dealers and service centres’ across India has already begun sending text messages to inform Pulsar 220 DTSi owner about the recall and to get the replacement done they will have to reach specified service stations. The replacement job is less time consuming and would take less than 20 minutes which means an owner can spare some time out with interrupting his work.

For this you have to be aware of your Pulsar’s Chassis Number which you can find at the following –

  • Your 220’s manual should have the chassis number printed on the cover.
  • Under the fairing, on the headstock you locate the chassis number.
  • Contact your nearest Bajaj Showroom, and they will let you know the number.
