While talking about SUV`s, the picture in front of is of a huge jeep, with masculine feature and a go anywhere attitude, but there is one more essence that is adding to the SUV’s and its luxury. Talking to Auto Express Audi R&D boss, Wolfgang Durheimer revealed that his team is working on an SUV to be placed above the Q7 portfolio. The new SUV might be named as Audi Q8, which will compete with the Range Rover and upcoming SUV from Bentley, which is due in 2015. When asked if we could go bigger than the Q7, he gave a positive reply and also added that there is more room for expensive SUV’s, and he would not mind giving them a challenge.

Well talking about expensive SUV’s the top-of-the-line Audi Q7 cost about 60,000 pounds (around Rs. 49.67 lakhs) in the UK markets while the new one is estimated to be priced at 100,000 pounds (around Rs. 82.79 lakhs). But it’s not just the expensive SUV that Audi is working on; there another entry-level SUV in Durheimer mind targeted for the emerging markets like China, the SUV might be named as the Q2. According to the R&D chief emerging markets like China needs to be addressed in a different way than the developed markets like the US and the UK.

Currently Audi is doing well with its line-up of SUV’s and with these new one coming up, there will be an Audi in all segments.
