Aston Martin unveiled a luxury Android phone called Aspire

Aston Martin Aspire - 001

British sports car maker, Aston Martin is launching a luxury Android smartphone – the Aston Martin Aspire. The new Aston Martin Aspire has been unveiled in Hong Kong and it’s a luxury device that’s going to be available in five color versions: black, white, silver, gold, and rose gold. The first three versions cost around $1,290 (Approx 68,200 INR), while the last two are about $1,590 (Approx 84,100 INR) because 24K gold is used for their cases.

Although the Aston Martin Aspire have an amazing finish (and is) expensive, its specs – according to ePrice  – are of a mid-to-entry-level smartphone, including: a 3.2 inch HVGA display, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, 800MHz single-core processor, 5MP rear camera, VGA front-facing camera, 256MB of RAM, 512MB of ROM, and MicroSD card support. Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread runs the show.

You do get a leather pouch, and not one, but two 1,500mAh batteries in the box, but for $1,290 I can’t help but think you’d be better off buying two Samsung Galaxy S IIIs. Or, err, anything else? Set to be available in Hong Kong markets, it is still not sure whether this phone will see light of day in the western countries.
