2016 Hyundai Tucson launched in India – 2.0L Petrol /Diesel, from Rs. 18.99 lakh

The 2016 Hyundai Tucson has finally been launched in India. First things first, the all-new third-generation rival to the likes of the Honda CR-V, Skoda Yeti, and SsangYong Rexton will be offered to Indian customers in two engine options – petrol & diesel, with both getting manual and automatic transmission options.

Prices ranges from Rs. 18.99 lakh – Rs. 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi)

Positioned between the Creta and Santa Fe, the Tucson will be a third SUV from the Korean-carmaker in India. It uses Hyundai’s latest Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy which gives the car a premium as well as sporty look. While the side and rear profiles appear to be an evolution of the current-gen Santa Fe’s design.

Inside, the cabin features an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has navigation, voice recognition, Bluetooth, Aux-in and USB connectivity. The system is connected to 4 speakers and 2 tweeters. Furthermore a dual-zone climate control, rear AC vents, electrically foldable wing mirror, automatic headlamps, cruise control, puddle lamps, 10-way power-adjustable driver seat and keyless entry & go.

The New Tucson is positioned between the Creta and the Santa Fe

The Tucson is motivated by 2.0-litre petrol and diesel engines. The petrol motor produces 153 BHP @ 6,200 rpm and a peak torque of 192 Nm @ 4,000 rpm, and returns a fuel economy of 13.03 KMPL with the manual and 12.95 KMPL for the automatic gearbox. While the diesel mill churns-out 182 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 400 Nm @ 1,750-2,750 rpm. It returns a company claimed fuel economy of 18.42 KMPL for the manual variant and 16.38 KMPL with the automatic variant.

Safety kit on the 2016 Tucson include a 6-airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program (ESP), blind spot assist system, tyre pressure monitoring system, static cornering lights, electronic parking brake, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning system, drive mode selector, rear parking sensors and reversing camera. The AT GL and AT GLS trims also get front parking sensors.
