Mercedes Benz has done remarkable upgrades to lure the younger generation by offering sportier looks, latest in-car gadgets and high end safety features making it a pleasure to drive.

The New C-Class will the first ever Mercedes Benz on MRA platform (Modular rear-wheel drive architecture) and is expected to be 100mm longer than the existing C-Class making it 4700mm of which the 80mm are added to the wheelbase making it 2820mm. This also provides a better legroom and interior space. The boot capacity of the new C-Class has also increased to 485 litres, which makes it even roomier that the Audi A4 or BMW 3-series. This modification has helped in better handling and better suspension configuration. Also the entry level C160 may weigh about 1380kg.

The C-Class will receive a go-faster treatment from AMG and the mainstream engine will be available in the range of four cylinders and V6 ranging from 184 hp 2.0 litre twin-turbocharged to upto 330 hp 3.0 litre engine twin-turbocharged. With all the power under the hood Mercedes also plans to have a plug-in petrol-electric hybrid version that will run on 27hp electric motor that should enable the car to run upto 18 miles.

The C-Class will be available in four variants, the initial being the saloon and the estate to be launched in 2014 followed by, the coupe and a fabric roofed convertible in 2015.
