2012 Honda CR-V final design leaks out

A couple of months ago Honda has already released an image of the upcoming Honda CR-V Concept, now the company has released the images of final production model. It is more likely to debut at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show in November, followed by an Indian launch, a while later. From what we’re seeing, the real 2012 CR-V has a few distinct changes from that of the concept.

“The 2012 CR-V Concept introduces the exterior styling for the more sophisticated and dynamic design of the upcoming production model,” said John Mendel, executive vice president of sales for American Honda. “Long considered the benchmark for packaging and user-friendly design in the small SUV segment, the all-new CR-V will offer an added dimension of style, amazing interior versatility and Honda’s latest technologies for convenience and refinement.”

Now the deciding factor for the new 2012 Honda CR-V in India will be the engine powering the popular crossover. Word on the Web is that the 2012 CR-V could retain the 2.4 Liter i-VTEC engine with a little bit of tuning to improve both power and fuel economy. As for the diesel variant, we don’t see any possibility that happening anytime before 2012. The final unanswered question is whether or not Honda has managed to cram a third row of seats in the back.

We’re not sure if we like it… at least in these drawings.
