Toyota launches new Innova and Fortuner

Toyota Kirloskar Motors has launched the latest versions of Toyota’s flagship models Toyota Innova and Toyota Fortuner at the expo. Also on display were arrays of their new offerings including a new Etios, new Etios Liva, Altis Easy Seat, new Camry and the new LandCruiser 200. Toyota is also displaed its updated Prius hybrid at the expo stall.

“The Innova and Fortuner are very important vehicles in our Toyota line up and have played a very important role in the growth of sales and expansion of operations of Toyota in India. The Innova is based on Toyota’s IMV platform – international innovative multipurpose vehicle – which is also used for the Fortuner. Toyota initiated the IMV project to achieve a global manufacturing and supply system for utility vehicles. Vehicles on this platform are manufactured by various plants of Toyota located in different countries and sold across the globe, resulting in economies of scale. With the new Innova and new Fortuner we will serve our customers better and enhance the ownership experience manifold,” Mr. Hiroshi Nakagawa, managing director, TKM said.

New Toyota Innova

The new Innova is quite refreshing gets redesigned headlamps, fog lamps, a front grille with a new look and other minor changes to the exterior. The interiors have been spruced up to improve comfort and luxury. It gets steering-mounted controls and a touchscreen display with DVD, USB, AUX and Bluetooth. The new Innova is priced between Rs 9,40,200 and Rs 13,19,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

New Toyota Fortuner

The new Fortuner comes with 4×2 new 4-speed automatic transmission along with a 4×2 and a 4×4 manual. It too has received a new look front include a new inverted trapezoidal grille, automatic HID headlamps and alloy wheels. Interiors now come with a black wood finish and the Fortuner also sports a 2DIN six-inch touchscreen system with DVD, AUX, USB and Bluetooth compatibility. It is priced at Rs 19,99,000 for the 4×2 Manual, Rs 20,69,000 for the 4×2 Automatic and Rs 20,99,000 for the 4×4 Manual. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.

New Toyota Camry

Toyota’s Camry that is on display is slated to be launched in the third quarter of 2012. It has undergone many changes and now boasts of better ride comfort, interiors, quality and space. It comes with an integrated touchscreen audio system with DVD, USB, AUX and Bluetooth compatibility. It also gets steering-mounted controls as well as a smart entry system with a start/stop button.

New Toyota Land Cruiser 200

The Land Cruiser 200 now has a new 4.5-litre turbo diesel engine with a new six-speed automatic transmission, and design changes to both the interior and exterior. It will be available across all Toyota dealerships and bookings start from January 5, 2012. The new LC 200 is priced between Rs 87,55,000 and Rs 89,55,000.
