Maruti Suzuki’s much awaited hatch 2011 Swift (codenamed YP8) to hit the Indian market by 3rd Week of August, around the 17th to be precise. Bookings have already started and waiting period is close to 3 months already. Now, the details of the new Swift 2011 have emerged on the Internet along with a video which shows the cars from exteriors all around.
Maruti Suzuki has tried its level best to get all features on the international Swift to the local Swift and has succeeded to quite an extent. One of the most interesting thing that we learnt about the new Swift is that it comes with an automatic transmission variant with 4 speed automatic gearbox available only with the petrol variant. It is very keen to prevent cannibalization of the Swift with the Ritz by having new Swift as a premium hatchback.
